Obituary for Lena Terranova (Farina)

Lena Terranova : June 14, 1927 – October 29, 2022

Lena lived her entire life in Brooklyn and was in many ways a living history of Brooklyn. She was born in 1927 to Anna and Henry Farina, along with her sister Loretta and brothers Tony, Frank, and Henry. She touched many lives and was known by almost everyone simply as “Aunt Lea.”
She loved traveling and exploring new adventures, especially with family and friends. She was a long-time parishioner at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic church in Bay Ridge. Lea loved a good conversation with someone she’d meet on a train or in a restaurant, and always seemed to add to her list of friends.
Lea was an excellent dancer and won many dance contests with her husband Anthony “Chick” Terranova. She lived in Bay Ridge most of her life and most long-time residents of 88th Street knew her well and loved her.
A memorial service will be held on Friday November 4th, from 2pm – 5pm and 7pm – 10pm at Scarpaci Funeral Home, 14th Avenue and 86th Street, Brooklyn. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday November 5th at 9 am at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church on 95th Street and 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge, followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn
