Obituary for
Thomas Cullen
Thomas Cullen, beloved husband, father, and “Poppy,” has passed away at the age of 82.
Tom was a lifelong resident of Brooklyn, New York, born on January 20, 1938 to Cornelius and Ellen (McDonald) Cullen. He met his best friend and love of his life, Virginia (Zitelli), at the young age of 15. They married on October 5, 1958 and have been inseparable ever since. Together, they raised their three children, Karen, Kevin, and the late Tommy Cullen.
Tom had a green thumb and was very artistic; he could often be found gardening fresh vegetables in his yard or oil painting in his basement while listening to Frank Sinatra. When he wasn’t spending time with his passion projects around the house, he enjoyed going on long walks around the neighborhood with wife of 62 years. He cherished his memories of their trips to Atlantic City and Las Vegas together.
Tom is survived by his wife, Virginia, his son, Kevin, his daughter, Karen McNulty (Neil), his grandchildren, Lauren, Neil, and Meghan McNulty, and his sister Barbara (McAvoy). They will always remember his smile and quick-witted sense of humor.
Visitation hours will be
from 3pm to 7pm on Monday, December 28th
at Scarpaci Funeral Home and will be followed by a funeral service
on Tuesday, December 29th at 10am
at St. Frances Cabrini Church at
