Lawrence Parente
Larry Parente was born on August 22, 1970 in Brooklyn, New York. He spent his childhood in Brooklyn and attended P.S. 192, Seth Low Junior High, and FDR High School. In 1991 Larry joined the United States Navy and served on the USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier as an air crewman. He was a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. Larry was very proud of his service to his country and loved traveling to various countries around the world during his service.
While in the military , Larry was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia and lived with his family in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was a proud parent and doted on his son, Vinny. After his military service , Larry was employed as a commercial truck driver and was later self-employed as a professional electrical and mechanical repairman.
Larry enjoyed traveling, fishing, cooking, and visits to Coney Island. Most of all Larry enjoyed being around people. He loved joking, being funny and goofy, and making family and friends laugh. He especially will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor.
Larry spent the last seven years in his native New York and reconnected and enjoyed a close relationship with fellow veterans at the Montrose Veterans Home.
Larry is survived by his son, Vincent Parente Wastler, and his two brothers, Anthony and Kenneth Parente.
